GasBlaster SS - Self-Stemming Range
(Patented Self-Stemming Cartridge)

GasBlaster SS is a patented self-stemming low-explosive precision blasting device. Unlike high explosives, GasBlaster SS has a low velocity-of-detonation removing the violent shock wave associated with high explosives. GasBlaster works by deflagration: rapidly expanding gas pressure causes the rock to crack and fragment. Crucially, this technology produces no significant vibration reducing flyrock. GasBlaster SS is a patented self-stemming mechanism (auto stem function at both ends) eliminating manual stemming operations, materials and variability. GasBlaster SS is a UN 1.4S classified device, enabling safer and simpler logistics in both transport and storage. GasBlaster SS is CE marked.

GasBlaster SS is UK designed, engineered and manufactured from high-grade performance plastics. It comprises a watertight sealed propellant chamber, precision located on a solid GFN core (tie rod), centrally connecting the expansion collars. When the propellant is ignited, gases expand rapidly deploying the unique self-stemming collars of the GasBlaster, instantly sealing the drill hole in both directions. The resulting pressure then builds until breakage occurs.
